Spartanburg Regional opens larger corporate health center

Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System has opened a new, larger corporate health center at Oak Grove Plaza at 2660 Reidville Road to better meet the needs of the area’s growing workforce.

The 14,000-square-foot former grocery store was renovated and opened on July 17. A ribbon-cutting was held Tuesday.

“Because of growth, demand for our services continues to expand,” said Paul Butler, senior vice president of population health for SRHS.

More than 1,000 Upstate companies utilize SRHS corporate health services, which range from health risk assessments to employment drug testing, physicals for firefighters and law enforcement and cancer screenings. Wellness, injury prevention and safety consulting are also available, said SRHS spokeswoman Jessica Pickens.

A second corporate health office in Greer will continue operations, she said.

Since 2013, downtown Spartanburg has attracted $102 million in investment, 70 new businesses and 185 residential units, Pickens said. And job growth in Greenville is forecast to rise 41 percent over the next 10 years, she said.
